Since X-Rays cannot be detected by human senses, visual and audible warnings occur during exposures. In this video, a licensed technologist is seen depressing the prep and the exposure button on an x-ray console. These exposure type buttons are known as “dead-man switches.” A set timer terminates the exposure even when the buttons are depressed.
