Am I Too Old to Become an Xray Tech?

featured image

I got an email today from a gentleman asking, in essence, if I felt there was an ago cut-off for radiology. I answer this among other questions and hopefully, it helps some of you out there with the same questions.

No, I don’t believe there is an age limit but you need to be able to physically handle the job. There is a lot of lifting and moving patients around an exam table. It is a very physical job.

No, I don’t think the market is saturated IN GENERAL. But in highly populated areas, you could run into a problem. Especially if there are a lot of xray schools in the area. If your local area is saturated, be open to the idea of relocating. Remote areas like Idaho are desperate for techs.

For clarification on the different jobs within radiology, look through my channel. I have lots of videos explaining it.
