All Rad Techs practicing in the field will encounter a violent patient. Whether it be verbal or physical, you require to be prepared to handle this in an expert manner. Always keep your security.

Provide example of jerky clients:

Verbally abusive
I never did mind about the little things

Physically violent
Refuse to serve if needed
Some states it’s a felony to assault healthcare workers

Detainees or Perps in Custody
Don’t xray a detainee without police backup
Keep cuffs and shackles on unless imaging that area
Keep clothing tight so it can’t be grabbed
Absolutely nothing left out in the space that can be utilized as a weapon
Cover your name on your badge
Know your escape path

Psych patients
Always search for your histories
