A totally brand-new project has started yesterday after 3 months of substantial development!
The other day I effectively carried out the very first tests of a totally autonomous RC automobile. Yes, you heard that right, the car in the video is completely self-driving!. It was an extreme experience for me, nervously seeing whether the car would steer into the corners or decide to go straight.
The vehicle is made up of an Xray T4 2019 chassis, Hobbywing electronic devices and a Highest servo, a beautiful standard competitors automobile. On top of those, a custom-made computer system is established with a custom-made software acting as the brain of the automobile, together with high accuracy GPS and IMU sensing units.
Right now these are the infant steps of the test run, as the cars and truck does not fully capitalise the best racing line, or optimum tyre friction/ motor power. After safety precautions are totally satisfied, the genuine obstacle will start whether the device can reach the level of a human chauffeur.
