An X-Ray Specialist with Medical Assistant experience carries out routine administrative and clinical jobs to keep the practice of doctors and other health practitioners running smoothly. In addition, efficiency of routine radiology research studies normal for a doctor practice is expected. The responsibilities of Radiology Service technician differ from workplace to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioners specialized.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Offers administrative support consisting of, but not limited to, the following:

  • Takes clients case history, details referring to the patients check out to the physician and record important indications of clients to help the doctor with medical diagnosis
  • Prepares clients for physician examination
  • Assists doctor with assessment and treatment of client
  • Assists doctor with unique treatments
  • Performs basic radiologist tests and supervises the production of x-rays
  • Keeps precise record of all x-ray movies to include proper log entries, x-ray documentation for jackets and precise filing of films
  • Coordinates the reading of all x-ray movies with doctor
  • Communicates details to clients concerning preparation of lab tests and assessments Arranges analyzing room instruments and devices and keeps the taking a look at spaces cool and tidy
  • Initiating and preserving correspondence with patients and insurance companies
  • Respects and maintains privacy and self-respect of clients and guarantees patient confidentiality at all times

2. Other associated obligations:

  • Represents the center in a professional way face to face, in telephone discussions, and in written correspondence
  • Performs standard functions such as copying, scanning and faxing
  • Any other responsibilities as designated

Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or GED needed

2. Minimum two years experience in an x-ray department in a healthcare facility or physician s office

3. 1-3 experience as an x-ray service technician performing diagnostic radiography

4. Accreditation by American Pc Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license

5. Understanding of medical terminology

6. Understanding and efficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required

7. CPR Certification approved by AHA

Understanding, Skills and Abilities:

  • Phlebotomy, EKG
  • Vital signs, patient assessment
  • Administration of medications (Oral, IM, Sub-q, Intradermal, IV
  • Ability to work individually
  • Strong oral and written interaction skills are necessary
  • Attention to precision and detail
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the importance of personnel satisfaction

Physical Demands:

Individuals should be able to meet recognized specific physical requirements of the job including sitting at a desk or meeting table, reaching, lifting, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, standing and strolling. Capability to use 5 finger controls over extended periods

  • Direct exposure to blood borne pathogens
  • Schedule to work weekends and vacations as needed
