Vet Nurse OSCE tips #oscetips #imaging #xray #radiography
A short introduction to imaging OSCE exams. Who do you complete and OSCE that asked for bony landmarks when your patients has no bones?
Welcome to another OSCE tips and help session. This time it’s imaging. With the help of our Swedish friend – although other nationalities will do!
How do you make this patient have bones? Well like every other dog his last rib is roughly half way between his front and hind legs. Imagine, or draw a line down the patient to help you practice. This gives you a last rib, a TLJ, it shows where the thoracic spine is and also the sacrum and pelvis. This starts to quickly narrow down where you need to focus on for the OSCE views.
Importantly it also gives you a thorax and an abdomen.
Top tips for these OSCE exams are:-
Look at the whole patient first
Then make your imaginary line
Then focus on the area you need to image.
Thank for watching!
