General Summary:

An X-Ray Specialist with Medical Assistant experience carries out regular administrative and clinical jobs to keep the practice of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently. In addition, efficiency of regular radiology studies typical for a physician practice is anticipated. The responsibilities of Radiology Professional vary from office to workplace, depending on the location and size of the practice and the professionals specialized.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Offers administrative support consisting of, but not restricted to, the following:

  • Takes patients medical history, info relating to the clients see to the medical professional and record essential indications of clients to help the medical professional with diagnosis
  • Prepares patients for doctor examination
  • Helps physician with examination and treatment of client
  • Assists doctor with special treatments
  • Performs standard radiologist tests and manages the production of x-rays
  • Keeps precise record of all x-ray movies to include appropriate log entries, x-ray paperwork for jackets and accurate filing of movies
  • Coordinates the reading of all x-ray movies with doctor
  • Relays info to clients relating to preparation of lab tests and assessments Arranges taking a look at room instruments and equipment and keeps the analyzing spaces cool and tidy
  • Starting and maintaining correspondence with clients and insurer
  • Respects and maintains privacy and dignity of clients and guarantees client confidentiality at all times

2. Other related responsibilities:

  • Represents the center in an expert manner face to face, in telephone discussions, and in composed correspondence
  • Performs fundamental functions such as photocopying, scanning and faxing
  • Any other tasks as designated

Education and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or GED required

2. Minimum 2 years experience in an x-ray department in a health center or doctor s office

3. 1-3 experience as an x-ray specialist performing diagnostic radiography

4. Certification by American Computer Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license

5. Knowledge of medical terminology

6. Understanding and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required

7. CPR Accreditation approved by AHA

Understanding, Abilities and Abilities:

  • Phlebotomy, EKG
  • Crucial signs, client assessment
  • Administration of medications (Oral, IM, Sub-q, Intradermal, IV
  • Ability to work individually
  • Strong oral and written interaction abilities are important
  • Attention to accuracy and information
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the significance of staff complete satisfaction

Physical Demands:

Individuals must be able to satisfy recognized particular physical requirements of the task consisting of sitting at a desk or meeting table, reaching, lifting, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, standing and walking. Capability to use 5 finger adjustments over extended durations

  • Direct exposure to blood borne pathogens
